| Summary, etc. | Un nuevo turismo, definido y especializado, ha surgido en años recientes y se ha convertido en una de las más importantes de los viajes internacionales, por su volumen y por la derrama de divisas que representa: el turismo de congresos y convenciones.México ocupa una buena posición entre los destinos internacionales más solicitados para la celebración de ese tipo de reuniones. No obstante, su nivel mejoraría si se concediera un mayos impulso a su realización. Tonatiuh Cravioto ofrece una guía metodológica para optimizar la organización de congresos y convenciones -sean de negocios o de capacitación-, que incluye, además de los aspectos generales de esta faceta del turismo, todo lo referente a la organización de dichos actos: planeación; servicios, equipo e instalaciones; transportación; campañas promocionales; contabilidad, etc. Los principales propósitos del autor son contribuir al desarrollo exitoso de las reuniones mencionadas y proveer a los organizadores de orientaciones prácticas que les permitan desempeñar mejor sus funciones. |
