Esta edición está dedicada al profesor Eduardo Diego Patricio De Robertis (1913-1988), quien produjo, por primera vez en el mundo entero, un libro de texto que unificó elementos de la bioquímica, la genética y la fisiología de la célula. La primera edición apareció en 1946 y fue escrita juntamente con el bioquímico Wiktor Nowinski y el citogenetista Francisco A. Sáez. <br/>La presente es la duodécima edición de su famosos texto. Durante los diez años que la separan de la edición anterior, la biología celular incorporó un número enormemente grande de conocimientos nuevos. El lector podrá apreciar el empeño puesto para lograr el equilibrio adecuado entre los conocimientos tradicionales y los nuevos. Así, todos los puntos de la edición anterior fueron detenidamente evaluados con el fin de mantener los que, sin ser novedosos, han probado ser verdaderos y por lo tanto ineludibles para ayudar a comprender a los incorporados con posterioridad. |
