El manzano es una de las especies frutales mas ricas y antiguas del mundo. Actualmente su cultivo se extiende a casi todas las regiones templadas del planeta, y gracias al avance de la tecnología agrícola ha logrado adaptarse a zonas subtropicales de algunos países de Asia y América.<br/>Este libro ofrece a fruticultores, técnicos agrícolas, investigadores, maestros y estudiantes de agronomía, información completa y actualizada acerca del cultivo, manejo y cuidado del manzano, con miras a optimizar sus sistemas de producción y comercialización.<br/>Los estudios de campo y de laboratorio que los autores realizaron al respecto constituyen la base de la presente obra. Esta se estructura en dos partes, una de las cuales expone los aspectos pomologicos del manzano: Origen, botánica, taxonomía, valor nutricional, variedades, desarrollo, producción, etcétera; la obra examina las principales plagas y enfermedades que atacan a este cultivo, así como los medios mas efectivos para la prevención y el control de las mismas. |
