La universidad surge en Europa en pleno proceso de transición del feudalismo al capitalismo, cuando el choque de civilizaciones procesa la destrucción de unas y la creación y simultanea de la cultura del nuevo mundo en América. Un yo y otro como parte de la naciente modernidad civilizatoria universal.
