Summary, etc.	La Democracia en América Latina: Partidos políticos y movimientos sociales, compilado por Arturo Fernández y Cecilia Lesgart, es producto de una investigación realizada bajo el financiamiento del Consejo Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnica, organismo del que ambos son investigadores en el área de la Ciencia Política.<br/>A el se han sumado varios jóvenes investigadores y becarios, algunos de ese mismo organismo y otros que se encuentran desarrollando sus tesis doctorales en Buenos Aires o en la ciudad de Rosario en el área de la Teoría Política, de la Ciencia Política y de la Sociología Política.<br/>El resultado final es un libro que reúne artículos diversos, pero cuyo eje estructurante se relaciona con los sentidos, las transformaciones y la situación de la democracia n distintos países de América Latina desde principios del nuevo milenio. En su mayoría han incorporado una dimensión comparativa que se esfuerza por enriquecer la perspectiva de análisis entre países, y al interior de los mismo introduciendo la comparación histórica. <br/>Aunque esta escrito en Argentina, y de alguna manera ella provee un prismático sobre democracia, la representación y la participación política, el libro intenta ampliar el área de conocimientos de la Política Comparada, incorporando un análisis de índole teórica y empírica.
