| Summary, etc. | La presencia europea en el Perú, de Giovanni Bonfiglio, examina las diversas formas de la inmigración europea hacia el Perú republicano: la característica de los colonos alemanes que se asentaron en el Pozuzo; la específica de las cadenas familiares y étnicas de italianos provenientes de la Liguria; la inmigración selecta de profesionales y técnicos ingleses propiciada por las empresas británicas instaladas en el Perú; y la inmigración, igualmente selectiva, de ingenieros polacos promovida por el Estado peruano para la construcción de ferrocarriles, puentes y caminos a mediados y fines del siglo XIX.<br/>Bonfiglio sugiere la existencia de una "biculturalidad" en los inmigrantes, quienes podrían haber respondido al nuevo entorno con una actitud orientada hacia la "integración sin asimilación". Ese comportamiento bicultural habría incidido decisivamente sobre las relaciones interetnicas entre los inmigrantes europeos y la población peruana.<br/>El importante estudio de Bonfiglio se complementa con el articulo de Natlia Sobrevilla sobre la colonia alemana del Pozuzo; el de Brenda Harriman sobre la inmigración inglesa; el de León Trahtemberg y Eduardo Bigio sobre la inmigración judía; el de Zivana Meseldzic de Pereyra sobre la presencia de los esclavos del Sur; el de Fernando Villiger sobre la inmigración suiza; el de Eusebio Quiroz Paz Soldan sobre la inmigración vasca a Arequipa y los del propio Bonfiglio sobre las inmigraciones italiana y croata al Perú. |
