| Summary, etc. | La cuarta edición de Economía es la más amplia revisión del libro realizada hasta la fecha y reconstruye y mejora la estructura de las ediciones anteriores. Las “novedades” de esta edición se detallan en la próxima sección.<br/>Este libro se inspiró en dos cuestiones principales, que son propias de nuestra materia, y por nuestra incapacidad para encontrar las respuestas.<br/>En lo que se refiere a la macroeconomía, la principal cuestión que nos condujo a escribir este libro es la siguiente. Tras haber estudiado una introducción a la economía ¿son capaces los estudiantes de comprender las controversias públicas sobre temas como el nivel de gasto y fiscalidad públicos, la creciente deuda nacional y la política económica? ¿Estamos preparando a nuestros estudiantes para entender las primeras páginas de los periódicos? Durante muchos años el curso introductorio se dirigía a enseñar a los estudiantes cómo debía desempeñarse la política económica, es decir, a proporcionarles un libro de recetas de respuestas “correctas”. |
