| Summary, etc. | Los cambios operados a escala global han llevado a muchos especialistas a plantear la necesidad de fraguar una nueva sociedad. Así, cuando se aborda para su proyección la nueva sociedad a la que se aspira y se pretende construir, sea denominada de la Información, del Conocimiento o del Aprendizaje-, siempre se hace alusión a la necesidad de garantizar los derechos políticos, sociales, económicos y culturales de todos los seres humanos. No obstante, esta garantía no puede asegurarse si no se crean las condiciones necesarias para el acceso y uso de la información y el conocimiento; pues ellos son elementos clave para instaurar la democracia participativa, la responsabilidad social, la transparencia y la protección social en los escenarios societales contemporáneos. Las peculiaridades del momento histórico que atraviesa la sociedad le imprimen una dinámica diferente a la función educativa de los profesionales e instituciones de la información, lo que ha llevado a la emergencia de la Alfabetización informacional. |
