Summary, etc.	Editada en Viena en 1851, las antigüedades peruanas de Mariano de Rivero y Jakob von Tschudi, es una de las primeras obras en donde se propone una visión que parte de la experiencia positiva que, a partir de Alexander von Humboldt, había hecho de las simples relaciones de viajeros verdaderas exploraciones científicas. A diferencia de los cronistas de los siglos XVI y XVII, los registros históricos ahora se encontraban supeditados a constataciones que la Arqueología , Geografía, Botánica tenían que confirmar.
