Summary, etc.	El objetivo de este libro es presentar en forma resumida los fundamentos y los procesos operativos utilizados para el proyecto por el Método de los Estados Límites (LRFD) de estructuras de acero formadas por tubos y por barras de sección abierta conformadas en frío, aplicables a los casos mas comunes de la práctica en nuestro medio.<br/>El proyecto por Estados Límites permite al proyectista un conocimiento y control mas cierto de la seguridad real de la estructura y de sus elementos estructurales. Asimismo una confiabilidad mas uniforme, independiente del tipo de acciones que actúen sobre la estructura. Es, en esos aspectos , un apreciable avance sobre los procedimientos de cálculo que utilizan un coeficiente de seguridad único (método por tensiones admisibles) antiguamente utilizados en el proyecto de estructuras de acero.
