| Summary, etc. | El iPavement (Pavimento Inteligente) supone la culminación de un esfuerzo de investigación y desarrollo que ha dado lugar después de varios años a un producto que hace realidad el sueño de convertir a las ciudades en "inteligentes". El iPavement es la base de la urbanótica y está formado por cuatro capas (infraestructura física, sensores, redes y servicios), mejorando la vía tradicional (originaria de la calzada romana o vía romana), que solamente sirve como lugar de paso (pero que no presenta ningún tipo de "inteligencia"). También permite ofrecer nuevos servicios e incrementa la accesibilidad y la seguridad en diversos entornos, como estadios y otros recintos aforados, puertos y aeropuertos, centros comerciales y de ocio, puntos turísticos, paseos marítimos, etc. En este libro se explican los conceptos más importantes relacionados con el iPavement con el fin de dar al lector una panorámica sobre su prescripción, uso y evolución. Creemos, sin duda, que el Pavimento Inteligente ofrece la respuesta tecnológica que facilitará a las ciudades el afrontar los retos del futuro con mayores garantías de éxito; para ello es imprescindible adoptar un enfoque transdisciplinar, que conciba a la ciudad como un ecosistema en el que interactúan los niveles arquitectónico, tecnológico y social. |
